Project Success is program designed specifically for students on academic probation. Participation helps probation students set academic goals, become aware of campus services, understand probation policies and ultimately return to good academic standing. Project Success divides probation students into three categories based upon their unique needs. These groups are First Time Probation, Continued Probation, and New Start Probation.
Program requirements are: attend a Success Seminar I, attend an Advisor Conference, attend a UCLA workshop, and attend a Success Seminar II. Continued Probation students must also meet with an UCLA Study Skills Facilitator. Details of each of the stated requirements are in your information packet you will/have receive.
Participation in Project Success is required for any student on academic probation. Should a student be dismissed from Illinois State University, the Reinstatement Committee will evaluate a student’s participation in Project Success as a factor in the reinstatement decision.
Yes, you do need to participate in Project Success. Hopefully, you received valuable information the first time you participated, but you are still on academic probation. Being a continued probation student, your enrollment at Illinois State is still in jeopardy. Some information will be review, however, it is still imperative information that you need.

Every student has different reasons as to why they are on academic probation. For some, it is due to medical conditions, the passing of loved ones, or other personal circumstances. For others, it is due to lack of participation in class, not going to class, and other reasons why their academics are not up to par. Whatever the circumstances may be, Project Success will assist you on how to turn your academic situation around. Therefore, if you are on academic probation, you are required to participate in Project Success.
It’s great to hear students state this goal. Project Success was designed to assist students achieve this goal. However, all students who are on academic probation are required to participate in Project Success.
Contact EMAS immediately to find out if there are any other options. Class conflicts are valid conflicts. All other conflicts are unacceptable. As a student on academic probation, academics need to be your top priority. However, all situations will be evaluated.

Project Success information is emailed to your Illinois State email account about two weeks before the semester begins.
