Illinois State offers students a rigorous and challenging academic environment. As a result, some students may find themselves facing academic and personal challenges that they have never experienced prior to enrolling in college. To maintain academic good standing, a student must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00. These academic and personal challenges can sometimes make it difficult for students to maintain academic good standing. This Web site provides information in regard to academic probation and reinstatement policies and procedures.
The Office of Enrollment Management and Academic Services (EMAS) supports a variety of initiatives to assist students through academic and personal challenges, whether they be short- or long-term. Every Illinois State student is responsible for their own academic achievement and success. Our goal is to provide students with an understanding of academic probation and reinstatement policies and procedures and to require participation in Project Success in an effort to increase each student’s chances for continued academic success.
